Technology leadership · Digital services · Cyber

I turn complex technology into services people trust.

I’m Gordon Shrosbree—a technology leader and hands-on builder working where strategy, security, data and organisational life meet.

THE THREAD

The best technology leadership is not really about technology. It is about making risk understandable, turning ambition into dependable systems, and helping people do meaningful work with confidence.

Selected work

Strategy you can actually use.

A few examples of the territory I work in—from organisational assurance to products used across diocesan life.

ASSURANCE02

Cyber, made governable

Translating technical risk into decisions leaders can own—from Cyber Essentials Plus to practical audit, evidence and improvement roadmaps.

COLLABORATION03

Shared diocesan services

Connecting people, patterns and capability across dioceses—so useful work is shared, repeated effort falls away, and standards rise together.

CHURCH TECHNOLOGY04

Developer & maintainer

Song of Songs

Windows presentation software for churches. I develop and maintain the product, helping worship teams prepare and present song lyrics, Bible passages, images and video through a straightforward interface designed for volunteers.

Bring people with you.

How I work

Clear thinking. Useful outcomes.

A

Start with the real problem

Technology is only useful when it answers a genuine organisational need. I begin with people, pressure points and purpose.

B

Make complexity legible

Leaders should be able to understand the decision in front of them—without needing to become the technical expert.

C

Stay close to delivery

I enjoy the strategy, but I am a builder at heart. Plans get better when they remain connected to the reality of making things work.

About

Technologist.
Leader.
Builder.

My career has moved from software engineering and architecture into infrastructure, security, governance and technology leadership.

That range matters. It lets me move comfortably between a board-level conversation about risk, a service redesign with colleagues, and the detail of how a platform should work. Today, much of my work sits within the Church of England environment, where trust, stewardship and limited capacity make thoughtful technology especially important.

“Will this help?”

The next chapter

Technology deserves a seat at the table—and something useful to say.

I’m interested in the conversations that turn good intent into better systems, stronger organisations and lasting public value.
